What We Do
We design and manufacture bespoke laboratory furniture in our own UK workshop, built to your drawings and your dimensions. Our standard tables and benches can be ordered directly online, but a large part of what we make never appears in a catalogue at all, because it was built for one specific room.
If you need a bench that fits an awkward alcove, a run of fitted worktops along a wall, a sink positioned exactly where your services come up, or storage built into the frame rather than pushed underneath it, that is the work we do.
Made by the people you are buying from
We are a manufacturer, not a reseller. Every bench, table and worktop is fabricated in our own workshop, which has two practical consequences for you.
The first is price. There is no distributor margin sitting between our workshop and your laboratory, so on a bespoke project the money goes into the furniture rather than into the supply chain.
The second is that you are talking to the people who will actually build it. When you ask whether a 2400mm span will carry a particular instrument, or whether a sink can move 300mm to the left, the answer comes from the workshop rather than from a catalogue.
What we build
Bespoke work covers most of what a working laboratory needs:
- Laboratory benches and tables in non standard sizes, heights and depths
- Benches with sinks and taps, including double drainer arrangements and machined drainage grooves
- Integrated storage, including inset drawers, cupboard units and shelving built into the frame
- High and low level shelving, both adjustable spur systems and fixed welded racks
- Mobile trolleys and benching, including multi tier and enclosed trolleys
- Height adjustable benches with electric, hydraulic or crank handle operation
- Fitted and fixed furniture built from end rails, span rails and continuous Trespa worktops
Fitted runs can be made in a variety of heights, shapes and sizes, which is usually the right approach when you are furnishing a whole room rather than adding a single bench.
Examples of our bespoke work
Materials and construction
Bespoke furniture is built to the same specification as our standard range. Frames use 38mm x 38mm x 1.5mm box section, fully welded as one piece rather than bolted together, then cleaned, etched and finished with an oven baked powder coating. Frame colours are available in Black, Light Grey (RAL 7035) and White (RAL 9016).
Worktops are 16mm Trespa TopLab Base, resistant to chemical spills, scratching and abrasion, and rated from -40°C to +180°C so heated equipment can sit directly on the surface. All edges are chamfered and polished. Five standard Trespa colours are available, and we also supply Trespa worktops cut to size on their own if you only need the surface.
Who we work with
We supply research laboratories, industrial and commercial labs, clean rooms, and school and college science departments. Requirements vary a great deal between them. A research lab may need a bench rated for a specific instrument load, a school may need a full classroom fitted out to a fixed budget over the summer, and a clean room may need surfaces and construction chosen for wipe down and contamination control.
How a bespoke order works
- Tell us what you need. A rough sketch, a set of dimensions, a room plan or a photograph of the existing space is enough to start.
- We quote. You get a price for the work as specified, direct from the manufacturer.
- We produce a drawing. Before anything is cut or welded, we send a drawing showing all dimensions for you to approve.
- You approve it. Nothing goes into production until the drawing is signed off, so there are no surprises on delivery day.
- We manufacture and deliver. Built in our workshop and delivered to you.
Standard ranges available online
